Phodnicha Bhaat / Fried Rice

One of the well known Maharashtrian recipe which every Marathi person loves to eat. This easy to make with less ingredients recipe gives an option to full your stomach at any time. One can have it in breakfast or can add it in lunch / dinner.

Ingredients

  1. Rice (steamed) – 2 cup (250 grams)
  2. Oil – 1 table spoon
  3. Curry leaves – 1 string
  4. Mustered seeds – 1/2 tea spoon
  5. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tea spoon
  6. Green chilies (chopped) – 3 to 4 numbers
  7. Onion (chopped) – 1 number
  8. Turmeric – 1/2 tea spoon
  9. Salt – as per taste
  10. Sugar – 1 tea spoon
  11. Coriander leaves (chopped) – 2 table spoon

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil in a kadhai and add mustered seeds, cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  2. Then add curry leaves, green chilies and onion into it.
  3. Saute till onion turns to translucent, then add turmeric and saute.
  4. Then add steamed rice and mix well.
  5. Now add sugar and salt as per taste, saute for another 5 mins.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot.
